Q. We recently got engaged and will be getting married in May next year and want our wedding cake to be a seasonal showstopper. Any ideas?

A. Emma Thorburn says: Emma says: This four-tier creation has an aperture which can be filled with seasonal greenery and flowers. It's a popular design for couples looking to make a statement as there's plenty of room to add your own choice of fruit, blooms and foliage.

This beautiful single-tier cake suits all budgets and really allows you to go to town with making your statement cake special. We used blush colours and dried ferns, which reflect both the autumn/ winter season before and springtime ahead; a romantic representation of the couple's former life and the fresh new beginning they're embarking on together.
