Dating back to 1350, Trinity Hall is one of the oldest Cambridge colleges. Set around a series of historic courtyards, the property boasts beautiful gardens, manicured lawns and fantastic river views.

Trinity Hall welcomes wedding bookings during college vacations in the spring, summer and at Christmas. The college includes a wealth of historic buildings and interesting architectural features ranging from the Medieval period through to the present day.

Celebrate in style
Ceremonies and receptions are held in a variety of stunning historic rooms ranging from intimate to grand, suitable for wedding parties large or small.

For vows, the Graham Storey Room is located on the ground floor within an attractive red-brick Tudor building. This spacious room includes many historic features and views of Latham Lawn. It’s suitable for ceremonies for up to 90 people.

The Leslie Stephen Room is located on the first floor overlooking the college’s front court. This attractive and historic room is ideal for smaller ceremonies of up to 30 guests (available Sunday to Thursday during college vacations).

Post-ceremony, Trinity Hall’s beautiful riverside grounds offer an idyllic setting for drinks and canapés. For a quintessentially Cambridge wedding, couples could arrive by chauffeured punt to be greeted by guests on the River Terrace or enjoy a mini-punting party with guests along the River Cam. For a classic summer wedding, traditional garden games on Latham Lawn with Champagne, Prosecco or Pimms can be organised.

Following the drinks reception, enjoy the wedding breakfast in the Medieval Dining Hall (capacity 150), boasting a high-vaulted ceiling, impressive portrait collection and ornate historic features.

As the celebrations continue into the night, the Crescent Room (capacity 150) is the perfect space for live music and DJs/discos. The adjoining Aula Bar includes comfortable leather armchairs and sofas, and a well-stocked bar. These rooms are accessed via the historic North Court, which offers a wonderful outdoor setting for acoustic music.

During college vacations Trinity Hall is available for larger weddings of 60 to 150 guests on Fridays and Saturdays (80 guest minimum on Saturdays) and more intimate weddings of up to 50 from Sunday to Thursday.

We love...
When tying the knot here, Trinity Hall’s wedding package includes wedding coordinators, a complimentary menu tasting, and private changing rooms for the nearlyweds to get fully prepared on their wedding day (subject to availability). Accommodation for wedding guests may also be offered subject to availability.

Women want a personal engagement ring not an expensive one

New research suggests a shift in how women approach one of the most traditional luxury jewellery purchases, with 75% saying they want an engagement ring to prioritise personal meaning over size or value. A study of 1,353 UK women carried out by 77 Diamonds* found that 75% say they would prioritise a personalised engagement ring over a larger or more expensive diamond. What seems to stand out is not a complete rejection of convention, but rather a rebalancing and reassessment of value. 59% of women say their preference still leans towards traditional ready-made ring designs, and only 11% want an entirely custom-made piece But the emotional drive behind preferences and purchasing decisions does appear to be changing with 30% expressing a desire for rings that carry additional meaning through small modifications, engravings or design adjustments.

One in seven couples choose sleep over sex on their wedding night

As the UK's spring and summer wedding season begins, new research by Mattress Online suggests the traditional idea of a passion-filled wedding night doesn't always match reality, with one in six couples (15%) saying they did not have sex after their big day. To understand why, the bed experts also asked survey respondents what their reasoning was behind this. They also provided additional insight on the idea of the "wedding night" from Relationship Expert, Jenni Trent Hughes. The findings show that exhaustion was by far the most common factor, with more than two in five (44%) of couples saying they were simply too tired after the celebrations. As weddings often involve early starts, long days, emotional highs, and late nights, rest is a more realistic priority than romance once newlyweds are in bed.
