Huntingdon Town Hall, Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire

Huntingdon Town Hall, Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire For something out of the ordinary for your big day, how about a former court house? Built in 1745, Huntingdon Town Hall is a beautifully restored Grade II* Georgian building offering a distinctive setting for a wedding with a difference. Set in the heart of Huntingdon in the historic Market Square, the landmark venue has two renovated court rooms, both licensed for ceremonies, ideal for intimate weddings. For larger ceremonies and receptions, the elegant Assembly Room and Council Chamber cater for wedding parties of up to 120 family and friends. The Assembly Room, a grand ballroom on the second floor, boasts three crystal chandeliers and a eight portraits held by the council as custodians for the town. Formerly the tea room, it can hold up to 75 people. The most prominent feature of the Council Chamber is the special board featuring the names of the town's majors since 1729. Also recorded in this room are the names of the various Town Clerks and, more significantly, the names of some of those who fell in the service of their country in two World Wars. This room can hold a maximum of 75 people.

We love... the sash windows and first-floor balcony, great for photos in the summer when the floral displays are in bloom.
