As we head into the Spring/Summer wedding season, many couples will be tying up the last elements of their weddings before the big day.
Often left to the last minute is transport, with many couples wanting to arrive and leave their wedding venues in style. Nationwide Vehicle Contracts decided to investigate which cars are the most popular when it comes to wedding hire, and also how much hiring one will set you back.
To work out the most popular wedding car of 2024, Nationwide Vehicle Contracts has analysed Google search volumes, Google search trends and TikTok data including the number of posts per model, monthly searches and the YoY search trend.

Our research reveals the top wedding cars with hire costs ranging from over £1.2k down to a more comfortable £300. With the list containing a range of vehicles from the traditional white Rolls-Royce, to the more flashy Ferrari, they are sure to make a lasting first impression for when you arrive to say 'I do'.
3. Vintage Land Rover Defender - from £410
The Land Rover Defender is a classic British icon. Traditionally found on farms, vintage editions of the model have seen a huge resurgence in interest over the last 10 years and so has its popularity as a wedding car. The car has become a popular car for collectors and restoration lovers. This car lends itself to country weddings, looking perfect against the backdrop of a grade-listed house or barn venue. Whether you prefer a traditional and rustic model or one that has undergone a polished restoration there are plenty of choices for engaged couples.
With prices for hiring starting from £410, it sits as one of the more affordable options on the list. The car achieves 2.1k searches every month on Google, with a 21% increase in the last year showing the car is growing in popularity. This classic car is also popular on social media, being featured in over 63k videos on TikTok- the most out of all of the cars on the top 10 list
2. Aston Martin DB5 - From £1,200
The Aston Martin DB5 is arguably the most recognised car on the list, known as the original choice of transport for James Bond. Featured first in Goldfinger in 1964 the model has been featured throughout most of the franchise's films, most recently driven by Daniel Craig in No Time To Die.
This car is definitely a head-turner and is the most luxurious model on the list and will set you back a minimum of £1,200 to hire. This model is perfect for couples looking to add a touch of classic elegance to their wedding and would look perfect arriving at a stately home venue.
The car achieves 14.8k searches every month on Google and has been featured in 9.5k posts on TikTok proving it is just as popular on social media too.
1. Rolls-Royce Phantom - from £995
Taking the top spot as the most popular wedding car of 2024 is the Rolls-Royce Phantom. It's a full-sized luxury saloon, in its eighth generation, debuting in 2017, and the second launched by Rolls-Royce since the BMW takeover. With a bespoke and personalised interior for the clientele, it's the ideal car for a wedding.
Being one of the more modern cars on the list this Rolls-Royce model would be a perfect match for a city centre wedding or at a contemporary venue.
It's in fact the most popular car on Google achieving 22.2k searches in the past month, with over 17.3k searches on TikTok each month the model is clearly popular on social media too.
Guests Spend £348 On Average to Attend A Wedding, Says Expert
Wedding guests across the UK are spending hundreds of pounds just to attend a single wedding, with new research revealing the growing financial strain placed on friends and family. Research* commissioned by The Insurance Emporium, conducted by Censuswide, has revealed among people who have attended a wedding in the last five years shows that guests spend £348 on average to attend a wedding - with costs rising even higher in major cities. The wedding insurance specialist's findings reveal that 72% of guests now say attending weddings has become a financial burden, while 38.2% admit they have felt pressured to overspend in order to attend.
