Suffolk photographer reducing carbon footprint

wedding reception outdoor at night with hay bales, festoon lighting and food trucks Suffolk-based Adam Prescott not only caters for all your big-day wedding photography needs, but he's also committed to making sure his business doesn't cost the earth.

As well as his wedding photography (www.aprescottwedding.photography) and videography company Gecko Films (www.gecko-films.co.uk), he also runs indoor photo booth service Bable & Co. (www.bableandco.com) and The Little Horse Picture Booth (www.thelittlehorsepicturebooth.co.uk).

With planet-friendly practices at the heart of the enterprise, he has partnered with Carbon Neutral Britain to further reduce the environmental impact of his whole operation.

Adam explains, "We have been working with them to offset our remaining carbone missions from travel and other business areas for around six months now. Prior to this, since my wife Anna and I launched the horsebox photo booth, we have planted a tree for every booking. We made the change to make all the businesses 100 per cent carbon neutral in the hope that we can make a difference and show that, with just a little thought, it is possible to have an eco-friendly business without too much effort."

The horsebox photo booth is a popular attraction at weddings and has a large solar panel covering the whole roof and 200kg of batteries inside to keep it going well into thenight. "It's the UK's only fully off-grid one of its kind!" says Adam. "Our indoor booth also runs without the need for mains electricity as it's battery-powered – even the professional photo printer runs off-grid, all thanks to the latest battery technology and our solar setup at home which charges everything up, the same is true for the photography and film businesses," he adds.
