Hi, my name is Neil Baxter and I love photography. But I especially love to photograph weddings.
For me photographs are art and should tell a story. And there is no greater story to tell than a wedding day.
My wedding photography style is natural and candid with a creative flair. For me weddings should be captured, not staged. And on average 80/85% of a wedding day is photographed naturally whilst still being on hand to organise the group photos and guide you both through a few poses and portraits. The rest of the day I am capturing all the fun, love and romance of your day.
My philosophy is: you just enjoy your day. Let me capture it for you and I will repay you with hundreds of images to help you relive your day over and over again.
On a full day wedding I am with you 3 hours before the ceremony to capture some bridal prep and generally leave about 15 minutes after the first dance. I am there for all the key moments and hang around for a bit after the first dance as the party really gets started.
I come with a smile and smartly dressed, usually waistcoat, shirt and trousers. I feel this helps me blend in with the guests and capture the day more naturally. I’m always looking for the laughter and fun moments. Wedding photography is a serious business. But weddings are also a lot of fun. And so they should be.
I also offer a FREE optional pre-wedding photoshoot with all full day bookings. If you choose to take this offer it is a great chance to get to know me as your photographer, share ideas, go through a few photos and poses we might do on the day, and also have a final run through the day to make sure everything runs smoothly. The pre-wedding shoot will help build your confidence and eliminate any nerves you may have about your wedding day photos.
Being trusted to capture your special day and present you with the images that hold all the memories is something I take with great pride and responsibility. Therefore I take no shortcuts and take no risks. I come fully insured including public liability insurance. I own all my own equipment including three cameras I take to every wedding. I work with two all day using various lenses. This makes me more efficient and prepared to capture all the key moments. The third camera is my back-up should it be needed. A professional wedding photographer will always have at least two cameras. In addition I have with me at every wedding back-up lenses, battery packs, flash guns etc etc. To be honest a lot of expensive equipment I never use but I must have just in case! A wedding is a one time occasion. There is now coming back next week. No rerun on the photographers behalf.
Having photographed over 600 weddings over a 17 year period I am happy to offer any advice about your day and give recommendations should you require any. I often say if you was to take away my cameras, I’ve watched a lot of weddings!
