Icing on the cake for local business

Local cake supremo Terri Newman has been named 2021 Suffolk Wedding Cake Designer of the Year in the LuxLife global annual wedding awards. The accolade is the latest honour for Terri since she first started Hadleigh-based Erivica Cakes. On hearing the news she said, "To say I was surprised is a massive understatement and it has given us a massive boost in positivity."Terri was first inspired by her mum Erica who used to make wedding and celebration cakes for family and friends as a hobby. After she died 16 years ago, Terri inherited all her tools and equipment and gradually taught herself to use them. "I love the fact that I still learn something new every day! My ideal cake to make is something that is completely personal. I like to have as much information as possible about my customers so thatI can feature elements of their lives and personalities to make it unique to them. I also like to create unusual cakes and take inspiration from everything around me."
