April/May 2021

I hardly dare believe it, but at the time of writing this, there is at last a blueprint for the shape of things to come for weddings in 2021. We’re all keeping everything crossed that the roadmap out of lockdown will lead to happy times ahead for everyone. With a phased startup plan for weddings, beginning small and building up to the final objective of no restrictions come June 21st, there’s certainly plenty to feel positive about.

As we emerge from lockdown number three, the newness of spring is more welcome than ever. The evenings are lighter, the blossom and first delicate blooms are out and there’s some real hope for our wonderful world of weddings to get underway again soon.

Whether you’re in the ‘postponed from 2020’ camp, the ‘original 2021’ crew or your status is ‘newly engaged’, the wedding planning will be gathering momentum in the coming months – and you’ve come to the right place for help and inspiration! This issue is crammed with tips and advice on everything from the wedding photography, lovely local venues, real weddings, inspirational photo shoots and more to showcase what’s on offer in the region. And if you’re looking to nail your wedding day bridal style, we’ve got you covered from pages 57 to 76 with everything from hair and beauty, to fashion and accessories. Packed with all the regular features, honeymoon updates, groom’s news and more, we’re excited and hope you are too!

Enjoy!

King's Lynn Town Hall

Located in the historic quarter of King’s Lynn, close to the riverfront, this magnificent building has been at the heart of the Norfolk town for more than eight centuries. With a wealth of impressive architectural features, the landmark venue boasts a grand chequerboard style frontage, a Jacobean porch and staircase. Step inside to discover elegant spaces full of character and a sense of occasion. From the Grade I listed Medieval Stone Hall, with its stone floor and oak-beamed ceiling, to the ornate Georgian Assembly Room, the complex provides an elegant big-day backdrop. There’s a pretty garden at the back and with the cobbled streets, riverfront and the beautiful Tower Gardens and The Walks historic urban park nearby, there’s plenty of great photo opportunities too.

Dating back to 1421, you can marry in the Grade I listed Stone Hall with up to 120 guests or in the characteristically Georgian Assembly Room, complete with chandeliers, ornate gold mirrors, original fireplace and period features. Both are used for receptions, with the wedding breakfast and dancing in the Assembly Room and the bar in the Stone Hall, you can celebrate in style with up to 180 loved ones in the evening.
