Situated on the edge of the Norfolk Broads National Park and surrounded by breathtaking walled moated gardens, woodland and wild meadows, the medieval estate, Hales Hall & The Great Barn has just released a long weekend (or full week) summer escape for the middle of July and two new specials for autumn 2019 and summer 2020.
Perfect for a pre- or post-wedding getaway, it's just ten minutes away from the Norfolk Broads. Norwich is also on the doorstep, home to two cathedrals and a wealth of history, Georgian-style shopping lanes and one of the largest open-air markets in the UK.
Following an extensive refurbishment in 2017, the buildings and accommodation at Hales Hall were relaunched with luxurious and stylish décor, antique furniture, period accessories and sumptuous beds and sofas. Featuring original timber beams from the 14th century, The Great Barn is renowned as the largest surviving Tudor brick barn in Britain. The 180 candlelit loophole windows and a charming thatched roof are combined with state-of-the-art technology and picture-perfect views, making it the perfect setting for a one-of-a-kind wedding.
The accommodation offers 16 elegant rooms available for up to 23 people across four separate characterful spaces. The Hall, with its six boutique bedrooms and 40-foot country kitchen; The Gatehouse, a cosy bolthole for two and an ideal hideaway for newlyweds; The Cottage, two double bedrooms with a modern stylish kitchen and The Garden Rooms, an attractive refurbished stable block within the grounds of the estate featuring another two double rooms with en-suite bedrooms.
Foodie heaven, Hales Hall also offers fabulous culinary options for weddings and all types of celebrations. Working closely with local expert chefs and varied suppliers from Norfolk and Suffolk offering seasonal produce, including locally-raised meats and locally-sourced fish and shellfish. Fresh ingredients are also taken from the estate's own gardens. What's more expert bar staff, mixologists and sommeliers can provide a wine-tasting evening or a showpiece bar serving everything from local craft beers to specialty gins and spectacular cocktails, while 'in-house' caterers De'Ath Hospitality also ensure a seamless service.
The July summer escape includes exclusive hire of The Great Barn and luxury accommodation for 25 or more guests for a long weekend (Friday until Sunday inclusive) or for the full week. There's also an autumn 2019 weekend special with dates available in October and November and throughout the summer months in 2020.
