When to start
Depending on the designer, gowns can take from 12 to 24 weeks to be delivered into the boutique and you'll need to allow around six to eight weeks for any alterations. A year to nine months before your wedding day is a great time to start shopping but if you're ready before then that's fine! Or if you're willing to wait and hit the sample sales, why not?

Where to start
Research styles and designers that you love and find a boutique that reflects your own style and stocks gowns that reflect who you are as a person. Your wedding isn't the time to try something completely new, it's the day to look like you at your very best!

How to choose
Trust your instinct and your stylist! Finding the one might not mean tears and TV-style moments of saying 'yes' to the dress. It might be just something deep down that makes you know in your heart that it's just you!

Who to take with you
Opt for a small group of people whose opinions you truly trust! The greater the number, the more differing opinions, which could lead to confusion as you'll never please everyone!
