Float in luscious lavender at The Spa at Bedford Lodge, Newmarket.

Renowned for its healing qualities, lavender has been used for centuries to help people relax, aid skin ailments, alleviate anxiety and ease pain, insomnia and headaches; ideal for  busy brides-to-be.

Nestled in picturesque Newmarket and surrounded by fields of luscious lavender, The Spa at Bedford Lodge Hotel is the perfect place to relax and unwind and its Lavender Dry Floatation Experience is an hour-long taste of heaven.

Using locally grown lavender it's designed to relax the mind and leave skin feeling nourished and sensuously soft.  Floral, refreshing and soothing, the treatment starts with a healing wrap combined with lavender essential oil to soothe and de-stress the skin.

Lie back, close your eyes and slip into a serene sleep as the lavender oil works its magic. The treatment is designed to be a stress-buster, harnessing the power of lavender to heal the mind, body and soul.

Other luxurious lavender treatments available at Bedford Lodge include the Lavender Poultice Massage. For this ancient technique, local lavender is wrapped in a muslin or cotton cloth and then steam heated. The steam allows the natural essential oils and aromas to be released throughout the soothing massage while the poultice cloths are used to gently massage the body.

The texture of the lavender leaves slowly exfoliates while the heat eases any tension or painful areas. The calming 120-minute treatment aims to massage away any feelings of stress or worry. The experience ends with a purifying and rebalancing massage, followed by the application of a lavender-infused compress to the skin.

Once the treatment's over the state-of-the-art spa is yours to explore; complete with a spacious mezzanine hydrotherapy pool, thermal suite, rasul, outdoor hot tub, experiential showers and an ice fountain.

Afterwards, you can sit back and bliss out in the dedicated relaxation room, with its array of comfortable sofas.
