Norfolk wedding venue on rethinking your spring or summer 2020 wedding

With more and more couples having to postpone their wedding due to the Coronavirus, venues throughout the region are getting to grips with the situation offering help and advice on rescheduling the big day.

Holkham Estate on the North Norfolk coast is a hotspot for all kinds of weddings from grand lavish celebrations to cosy intimate affairs. They report: "At Holkham we are acutely aware of our responsibility to our couples, and we've all been monitoring the situation closely. Unfortunately, it seems that for many, the most socially responsible thing to do is also the most difficult - postponing your wedding day. In these unprecedented times, we don't quite know where we will be in a few weeks' time, therefore we are currently working around 12 weeks ahead, with our couples getting married between now and mid-July to find alternative dates for their wedding. We understand that this a heart-breaking decision for anyone to have to make."

For those having to reschedule their big day, the venue shares some tips on how to still have the wedding of your dreams:

• For many couples that have made the difficult decision to postpone their wedding, they are potentially facing a whole new wedding season to consider, but that doesn't mean they need to rethink their entire wedding plans.
• Winter weddings are utterly magical and romantic; a summer colour palette can easily be deepened to add warmth with richer shades of one of your chosen hues.
• Swapping the material on your tablecloths or napkins can go a long way to transform a tablescape, or switching a summer spritzer for something like a cinnamon-spiced Moscow Mule.
• If you were relying on natural light for your photos, consider a cosy space lit with fairylights instead and maybe rethink your ceremony time to make the most of romantic golden-hour sunset shots.
