Nadine and Jon added a splash of Mediterranean magic to their big day.

Nadine Gibson married Jonathan Owens at Bruisyard Hall, Suffolk on 19th May, 2018.

We chose the venue because of the facilities and amount of space available which meant all the family and bridal party were able to stay with us. We put the deposit down before we even went to visit and we were thrilled when it turned out to be even better in real life than in the pictures.

When I went shopping for my dress, I picked four and the first one I tried on I fell in love with. I had no idea what style I wanted, I just knew it was the one.

Jon and his groomsmen wore matching grey suits and my dad bought Jon a tie to match the Gibson family tartan.

We had peonies in the bouquets, as they're my favourite flower, with a pop of pinky peach vuvuzela roses in mine, matching Jon's buttonhole.

We shopped for months for the bridesmaids' dresses and finally decided on periwinkle blue.

We wanted to give our guests handmade favours so, inspired by our month travelling in France, we baked macarons for everyone. After months of practising and hundreds of macarons later, they went down a treat.

We had a long banquet-style table in a nod to our first holiday together in Barcelona. While we were there we went to a small family restaurant and loved the vibe with people passing dishes of paella and tapas around, laughing and topping up each other's wine glasses.

We used the bouquets to decorate the tables with kumquat trees in between which we'd grown ourselves. We chose a muted green and white colour palette to complement the leafy green garland running the length of the table.

Instead of a traditional table plan we used pictures of us with our guests from over the years to mark each place. We displayed them on corks from bottles of fizz we'd kept from special occasions since we first met.

We hired a bouncy castle and had lots of garden games, including giant Jenga and sack-racing; luckily the weather was beautiful!

The cake was made by a friend of ours, who's been baking a cake for Jon's birthday for years. We'd already tried her pina colada speciality and knew we wanted that for our wedding, but after sampling her delicious lemon Victoria sponge, we had to have that too!

After the wedding breakfast we had a salsa session which our guests thoroughly enjoyed.
