June/July 2025 |

Now, it’s quite the milestone year for me for two reasons: I’m reaching the big 4.0 and I’ve been working in the world of weddings for 20 years! Wow – where has that time gone?
Luckily for me, I still love my job and the industry, it’s a close-knit community that support and champion each other. It’s an important role, being a part of someone’s wedding day, and there’s not a supplier I haven’t met that doesn’t value, respect and enjoy being involved in a couple’s nuptials.
From the cake maker that has lovingly spent hours icing the perfect petals onto each tier, to the stationery designer that has hand-drawn the venue for your invites; the DJ that’s spent late nights planning the perfect playlist for you, to the seamstress that’s painstakingly hand-sewn pearls onto your veil – local suppliers really do go above and beyond for every wedding, every couple, because they simply love what they do and know how important it is to you both.
Because of this passion, I still get excited every issue about the different things I come across, a new favour idea, a real wedding couple doing things differently, or an unusual first dance song, I still love it all – and I’m still surprised by couples, suppliers and love, all know no bounds.
Here’s to another 20 years, hip hip hooray!
Happy reading.

| Beautiful Barns |

The Sancroft Barn
The Sancroft Barn is a gorgeous Tudor Threshing Barn, set back in the gently rolling countryside of woods and arable farmland. The exterior boasts a south-facing paved courtyard with surrounding granary barns greeting you on arrival.
The gardens of the thatched Suffolk farmhouse have flowerbeds and trees, arches and hedges, a pond and Medieval moat – ample opportunities for photos! There’s an acre-and-a-half paddock fronting the venue, with wildflowers and walkways, a peaceful and serene gem with Suffolk countryside views.
A lovely combination of black weatherboard and painted render heritage buildings, with lighting throughout; the barn has original rustic features and modern facilities – power, heating, PA system and Wi-Fi essentials for a perfect setting for weddings.
Sancroft Barns holds a ceremony licence at various locations: the main barn seats 115 guests, the marquee seats 125, and the paddock holds 120 on chairs and straw bales, and other areas of the venue are available by arrangement. For receptions the marquee seats a maximum of 135 guests and the barn can hold 40 loved ones. The summer marquee is lined, with a carpeted floor, a clear and roll-up side, and also has power and PA system.
Being a dry hire venue, the couple can get exactly the caterer and bar of their choice. Additionally, this exclusive-use venue ensures you’ll be the only wedding party with 48-hour access to the property. You can arrive from as early as midday before the wedding and leave midday after your wedding day – plenty of time the following morning before the breakdown begins! What’s more, the venue is also dog-friendly, so you can have your pooch with you on your special day.
