Summer’s here with plenty more hot sunny days still to come, couples are getting married and weddings as we know and love them have been given the green light. Nothing is for sure in these uncertain times, but we’re keeping everything crossed and are looking forward to all the lovely weddings to come.
For all those planning or re-planning their big day, this issue is packed with ideas for weddings large or small. Elms Barn
If you’re dreaming of a quintessential English country wedding, this stunning venue is a must-see. Built using traditional Norfolk red brick, the 17th-century barn is full of character with oak beams and traditional loft windows. It links to an elegant marquee, ideal for hosting your post-vows drinks reception. The picture-perfect setting is a photographer’s dream with traditional formal features including a romantic rose garden, flowers and lily ponds.
There’s a large patio area with bay trees, great for relaxing in the sunshine, enjoying drinks and a gourmet barbecue, a meadow for outdoor games and a woodland walk. You can marry with up to 120 guests in the barn by candlelight or outside in the rose gardens of the beautiful Queen Anne house. With the rose walk as your aisle, the grapevine pergola as the altar and your loved ones seated within the lawns, it’s an idyllic setting.
Celebrate afterwards with a delicious wedding breakfast in the barn and elegant marquee followed by an evening reception for as many as 200 of your friends and family. If you want to linger longer, the venue provides a magical country wedding retreat. You can host your celebration over three days in privacy and comfort and enjoy a truly memorable break. Between the two self-catering cottages and its bed and breakfast lodge, there’s room for up to 24 guests with overflow accommodation for a further 20 guests available at its sister pub and restaurant The Swan, just a short journey away.

The day has finally come – wedding ceremonies and celebrations are restriction free! Grab your dancing shoes and get ready to sing at the top of your voice: "Celebrate good times... come on!" It's been a long road that many of us have tentatively navigated over the last 16 months; from us here at County Wedding Magzines HQ to suppliers and couples. There's been small highs and many lows, as each glimmer of hope was put out by another government announcement. Lockdown 1.0 turned into 2.0 and then 3.0, wedding guest numbers went from 0 to 12, 15 to 30 and now we can actually invite all of our loved ones, friends and family dear to our hearts to the big day. There's really been no better time to say 'I do', not only will it be mask free (personal choice), socially distance-free and rule-free; but it will be a true celebration of marriage, a union of friends and family, love and friendship.
