It’s party poppers at the ready as we turn the page on the 40th ruby edition of Your East Anglian Wedding! We couldn’t be more excited to bring you all the latest news and wedding loveliness from around the region in this landmark anniversary issue. Packed with fresh ideas and lovely seasonal weddings to excite and inspire you, there’s plenty to celebrate.
Personally, I love this time of year, romantic nights in snuggled around an open fire, watching films on the TV. It’s the ideal opportunity to embrace the hygge, a Danish ethos, which roughly translated, is all about simplifying things and enjoying the moment, bringing a mix of cosiness, charm and comfort into your life. Not only great for the every day, it’s a brilliant way of de-stressing the wedding planning too.
As this is also a popular time for proposals, there’ll soon be a whole new wave of newlyweds-to-be embarking on their wedding journey and we’re here to help. This issue is packed with everything from top tips and advice from local experts (page 91), to what’s hot for 2020 brides (page 69) latest trends in wedding catering (page 63) and more. So put your feet up, get cosy and enjoy! | |

Spotlight on... Wedding venues in and around Cambridge |
|
Murray Edwards College
If you’re looking for a contemporary wedding venue close to Cambridge city centre, Murray Edwards College provides an elegant option. Featuring clean lines, wide airy corridors and large windows, allowing the light to pour in, the building is crowned by the impressive Dome; a prominent local landmark.
Surrounded by 10 acres of peaceful grounds at the top of Castle Hill, this is a Cambridge college where you’re actually encouraged to walk on the grass! The Fellows’ Garden lawn is surrounded by trees and flower beds; perfect for photos and a relaxed, al-fresco drinks reception in the summer.
Although you can’t marry here, the Shire Hall register office is only a five-minute walk away. You can celebrate afterwards with a stylish reception for up to 210 guests in the spectacular Dome Dining Hall, while the Fellows’ Drawing and Dining Rooms are ideal for more intimate affairs.
We love... the Dome’s Fountain Court Walkway with beautiful views of the illuminated fountains at night.
