February/March 2019

If you started out 2019 with a sparkly new ring on your finger – congratulations, the journey starts here! Spring’s around the corner, love is in the air and there’s a buzz of expectation. We’re excited for all the fabulous spring and summer weddings to come and although the first green shoots may still seem a way off, we’re already dreaming of fabulous florals and pretty pastels. Check out our moodboards on page 58 for a fresh burst of seasonal inspiration.

However, while the long winter nights are still with us, now is the perfect time to get cracking with the planning. Doing your homework is vital, so while the weather’s still frosty outside, you can cosy up with your other half to browse the pages of this issue. Packed full of wedding loveliness, it’s a treasure trove of ideas and local suppliers right on your doorstep. Check out our venue styling feature on page 67 and if you’re looking to add a special personal touch to your day, there’s a wealth of creative talent in the region. Starting on page 73 we showcase just some of the local businesses offering handmade and bespoke details to make your celebration stand out from the crowd. Don’t forget to save pictures and links to all your favourite things, your suppliers will love you for it, as it makes their job so much easier if they can share your big-day vision.

Happy planning!

Seckford Hall

Seckford Hall has all the characteristics for a storybook wedding – a Boston ivy-clad Tudor red-brick building, 34 acres of stunning grounds and mature woodland, sweeping lawns, a private lake, beautiful walled garden and more.

There are a variety of spaces to suit a range of styles for weddings large or small, with a mix of traditional detailing and elegant modern features throughout. The Great Hall is the largest with room for up to 120 ceremony guests and 150 for the evening reception. Built of old Suffolk red brick and peg tiles in the style of a Tudor tithe barn, it’s full of atmosphere and opens out on to a patio with beautiful views of the lake and grounds. For larger gatherings, you can have a marquee in the walled garden as well.

The Mulberry Suite in the mansion’s new east wing is ideal for intimate ceremonies while the Boardroom lends itself to cosy receptions for up to 14 close family and friends. Overlooking the gardens, there’s a terrace with private doors leading outside and access to a stylish new lounge area.
