Holkham Hall

Holkham Hall is the stuff that wedding dreams are made of. Surrounded by rolling parkland and a large lake, the elegant 18th-century Palladian-style, Grade I listed mansion oozes style and romance. Wow-factor features abound, from the impressive central portico, to the terraces and magnificent fountain.

Step inside and be prepared for plenty of stop-stare moments. Four of the hall’s grand state rooms are licensed for ceremonies. Boasting one of the grandest entrance halls in England, the Marble Hall provides a stunning backdrop for your ‘I dos’. The high ceiling, columns, statuary and carved reliefs add to the grandeur, and the stairs provide a picture-perfect photo opportunity. Light and airy, it can host up to 142 seated guests on the ground floor and 170 using the side balconies as well. The Statue Gallery, Saloon and North State Dining Room are also available for ceremonies and feature a wealth of original features, works of art, sumptuous décor, chandeliers and other historical treasures.

Receptions can also be held in The Lady Elizabeth Wing, a dedicated events venue next to the hall. This versatile, contemporary space can host up to 250 seated guests for the wedding breakfast and 400 for a drinks reception. Alternatively, you can host your celebration in a marquee in Holkham park with the hall as your backdrop or in the seclusion of the tranquil, six-acre, 18th-century walled garden.

You can stay close by at the estate-owned Victoria Inn on the coast road in Holkham village. With 10 bedrooms and a further 10 in Ancient House opposite, your loved ones can join you, although it’s best to book early, particularly in the busy summer months.
